Watershed Decision Support

Alpine in conjunction with its long-term forest planning program has implemented the Watershed Decision Support (WDS©) strategy in hundreds of California’s watersheds. Our professional team is ready to supplement your staff or implement on your behalf this innovative approach to Watershed Assessment.

Our WDS© program is an extensive application designed to directly support the informational needs of land managers.

WDS©  Organizes Information On Three Levels:

Level 1: Watershed level information collected using GIS and other remote sensing tools

Level 2: Watershed information collected on-site including watercourse crossings, stream survey information and other conditions affecting watershed health (ex: land sliding, road issues)

Level 3: Specific, as needed, analysis on the watershed or sub drainage level to meet specific needs of the client. This could include landscape visualization,  water quality monitoring, or detailed geologic mapping.

WDS©  Provides Seamless Integration With Map-Enabled Applications:

All information in WDS© is linked to the landscape using Shapefiles generated from MapObjects. Maps are interactive and provide access to the entire database along with subject pictures and an aerial photo database.
